mittenless morning
we invite a chillier crisp
for our dormant legs
suddenly, we both start running
simply for feet

true love.

snow and bitter wind--
rush inside, remove coat--
and note the fly
the clear night conjures
iced white washed fields
the dog growling
children creep past to school
mothers slip on ice

finally

finally, I decided
not to negotiate the ice clefts
but to lounge
chez moi and occasionally
look out the window
