Today is also ending--
at the bottom of the snowstorm
the gigantic sun

the slowness of shadows

Haiga 203

hvidt forneden
mørke foroven
spor i den lyse nat
-
White below
darkness above
in the bright night
tracks

a weather-wound cloud
pulls in the sun -
spring swallowed

a crisp sheet of cloud
slips over the sun -
spring forestalled

a song of daybreak
"birdie, birdie, birdie" -
spring surrendered

no whisper of sleds
nor scraping of shovels
the snow simply rained
