Today is also ending--
at the bottom of the snowstorm
the gigantic sun

blizzard
the moon leaves the trees
behind
light snow days —
through the dark
dawn’s plow

chocolate Yule log
dusted with icing sugar -
snow covered hills
Christmas lights -
cherry blossom
still in bloom.

through this path

no one comes unheard

leaves separately frozen

chilled air penetrate

loosen tension

and my brain relax

yellow code

yellow code –
roofs flying over
the city

packy snow
I'll carve diem
into snowmen
full snow moon
the slowness of shadows
caught in branches

Haiga 203

hvidt forneden
mørke foroven
spor i den lyse nat
-
White below
darkness above
in the bright night
tracks

a weather-wound cloud
pulls in the sun -
spring swallowed

a crisp sheet of cloud
slips over the sun -
spring forestalled

a song of daybreak
"birdie, birdie, birdie" -
spring surrendered

no whisper of sleds
nor scraping of shovels
the snow simply rained

cold moon

cold moon

on the swing still swinging

a child’s shoe

hladan mjesec

na ljuljački se još ljulja

dječja cipelica

Honorable mention in
DIOGEN INTERNATIONAL WINTER HAIKU COMPETITION
FOR HAIKU, SENRYU AND TANKA – 2012
A leaf
boldly floats downstream
unaware of
the guided current
beneath
Trees sway together;

Wind roars around snowed mountain;

Hens cluck nervously.

..bored

let me amuse myself
by counting snowflakes
by the window
a curious neighbor spies
by my door and it's boring

From the deep
emerging green
melting ice

Crows morning discussion
temporarily stopped
when the street lights went out
In the darkest corners
hidden secrets
no soul without corners
The wind is restless,
It blows sunshine up the road
And into my face.
