Wow, it isn't really what I meant, but it is fantastic, David. The bell ringing wans't muffled -very much the contrary, it was the contrasting silence afterwards, AND an enormous full moon!
I just love the second and third lines, Beatrice.
What a delight this is. It makes me miss living near a church.
Sorry for my take over bid of your tanka Beatrice. I was transported by your powerful images of 'night,' 'silence' 'full moon' and 'bells'.
